Recipe Scaler

Scale any recipe up or down. Enter your original and desired yield, add each ingredient row, and the scaler calculates the correct quantity — with warnings for leavening, fractional eggs, and baking time.

Why Some Ingredients Don’t Scale Linearly

Baking powder and bicarbonate of soda scale at roughly 75% of the linear amount when doubling, since over-leavening causes a fast rise followed by collapse. A fractional egg should be beaten and measured (about 25ml per half egg). Baking time never scales with quantity — always test with a skewer or thermometer.
